FOREST SUMMIT

Hosted in conjunction with the Acopian Center for the Environment at the American University of Armenia in Yerevan, October 20-23, 2019

The inaugural Forest Summit: Global Action and Armenia facilitated open and transparent discussion of policy decisions on Armenia’s forests with the aim of catalyzing improvements in forest conservation and restoration internationally. Insights and learnings were shared from some of the world’s leading climatologists, forestry professionals, and political leaders. In addition to a wide variety of speaker sessions, attendees participated in field visits to forestry sites in Armenia, took part in social/networking events on the sidelines of the Conference, and visited some of Armenia’s most prominent tourist sites

ATP Forestry Program plants 200,000 seedlings annually throughout the forestry program and employs 125 or more seasonal workers each season. To date, ATP has planted over 1000 hectares of new forest in Armenia.
