Education and Awareness

Educating thousands of students every year in schools within Armenia and around the world.

Armenia Tree Project weaves education and awareness through all of its programs, fostering the next generation of empowered environmental stewards. Whether they are taught inside Armenia or in schools around the world, ATP’s interactive programs aim to raise the environmental consciousness of each and every person in the hopes that responsible behavior and sustainable practices will become the imperative for all.

Realizing the importance of preserving the work performed thus far, in 2004, ATP expanded its programs to include environmental education. ATP believes that only environmentally conscious generations can preserve and sustain the results we have achieved.

In 2005, ATP published Armenia’s first-ever environmental education manual for educators titled “Plant an Idea, Plant a Tree” which was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science (currently MoESC) for using in public schools as a non-formal educational tool. Soon after ATP expanded the program with the founding of the education centers in the villages of Karin and Margahovit, expanding the geography of cooperating schools and the number of students participating in programs.

The organization conducts training on environmental topics with various age groups. Students engage in interactive training programs and gain in-depth environmental knowledge by visiting our educational centers, enrolling in our eco clubs, attending classes within the project “Classroom on Wheels” as well as participating in eco camps.

We have curated lessons in English, Eastern and Western Armenian on various topics used by ATP educators with students in both Armenia and the Diaspora. If you'd like ATP to come to your school, please email us at info@armeniatree.org to learn more.
