OHANIAN EDUCATIONAL CENTERS for Environmental Studies

Armenia Tree Project has reached over 91,000 students from over 650 educational institutions and organizations in Armenia through its classes and programs and trained over 1,750 teachers.

Built in 2005 and 2012, the Michael and Virginia Ohanian Centers for Environmental Studies are best-described as “living laboratories” for environmental education in Lori and Aragatsotn regions of Armenia. Every year, accepting more than 5,000 students and parents in our educational centers, we aim to reinforce environmental knowledge among them by conducting interactive theoretical courses and implementing hands-on activities. Our trainers are constantly expanding the ecological repertoire, incorporating current and vital environmental issues, latest discoveries and solutions. The environmental exhibits and paraphernalia are being continuously improved in the educational centers to make training more engaging and visible.

The Karin center is located in the heart of ATP’s Karin Nursery, where children can observe all stages of propagation and growth. The Margahovit center boasts an experimental garden, supplemented by an outdoor classroom sponsored by the Bilezikian family from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
