Eco-clubs

Involving the next generation in making a difference in their own communities today.

The idea of ATP Eco-Clubs is aimed at creating a powerful student community armed with ecological knowledge that will develop appropriate skills for implementing environmental mini-projects in their communities, changing the behavior of other students and community members. Currently we have 38 Eco-Clubs in different regions of Armenia. The projects implemented by them included publication of a handbook on the “Importance And Use Of Local Species Of Herbs And Plants”, establishment of outdoor eco library, set up of an experimental greenhouse, mini garden, production of eco pens and eco bookmarks, Mobile Eco Theater initiative, establishment of community park, etc.

Involving the next generation in making a difference in their own communities today.

Eco-Club projects include

  • Converting wooden pallets into composters and benches for community and home use.
  • Building small green houses and cold frames to grow local vegetables.
  • Repurposing old tires to create Christmas decorations for the village squares and comfortable tables and chairs for homes.
  • Creating candles and decorations out of recycled materials that are sold or given as gifts.
  • Initiating other community environmentally-friendly projects, including environmentally green bus-and-bicycle stops, greening school environments.
  • Peer-to-peer education.
