The Problem
Armenia is facing the worse ecological threat in its history. Over 750,000 cubic meters of forest coverage are now being cut annually. At the current rate of deforestation, Armenia faces the probability of turning into a barren desert within 50 years.

Taking Action
Several steps can be taken to combat deforestation. Firstly, affordable fuel alternatives to wood need to be provided to communities, especially in the rural regions. Equally as important, citizens need to be educated about the consequences of excess forest removal.
