ATP Welcomes Robert Surabian to Watertown Staff

ATP is pleased to welcome Robert Surabian to our team as our new Director of Advancement. Robert comes to us from the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University where he was Director of Institutional Advancement for the past three years.

At the Arboretum Robert more than doubled annual and major giving, turned around a declining membership program and led a branding project to enhance communications and messaging across the organization and among its many audiences. Prior to the Arboretum, Robert was Director of Institutional Development at the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities (now known as Historic New England) and was Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Before his work in fundraising and nonprofit management, Robert taught environmental education to elementary school aged students. He is a life-long gardener and comes to us with a wealth of experience, saying “I’ve watched the Armenia Tree Project blossom over the past few years. I’m excited by the opportunity to match my expertise in philanthropy with a mission I care deeply about and a population as welcoming and generous as the Armenians.”
